A presente edição destes textos, originalmente manuscritos em línguas portuguesa e latina, revela um panorama em larga medida ignorado. Com exceção dalgumas passagens de cartas, um tratado um diário, o essencial da obra de Tomás Pereira estava, até hoje, ignorado.
Agora, em 2011, surge, em dois volumes esta edição crítica do CCCM das obras em português e latim (traduzidos para português) de Tomás Pereira. Pela primeira vez existe um sólido quadro documental das suas cartas e tratados, relatos e diários acompanhados de complementares documentos sobre a sua vida e família.
Fruto de um trabalho coletivo, em especial da equipa de investigadores do CCCM composta pela Prof. Doutora Ana Cristina da Costa Gomes, Doutora Isabel Murta Pina e Mestre Pedro Lage Correia a comunidade académica de investigação e de ensino, nacional e internacional, tem ao seu dispor uma nova idade documental e problemática de mais e de melhor conhecimento rigoroso.

The First International Symposium on Tomás Pereira, S.J. (1646-1708). Life, Work and World was organized by the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre, a Public Institute of Portugal´s Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and was held in Lisbon from 13th to 15th October 2008. The Proceedings of the Meeting are now published in October 2010.
The CCCM published the Portuguese/English bilingual edition of the Exhibition Catalogue of Tomás Pereira (1646-1708). A Jesuit in Kangxi´s China in 2009. These publications will be followed next year by the first volume of Opera Omnia by Tomás Pereira, S.J.
Esta obra de Christina Miu Bing Cheng, intitulada Tracing Macau Through Chinese Writers and Buddhist / Daoist Temples, é um estudo em viagem da mais longa duração passado-presente acerca das representações chinesas de Macau e dos seus templos budistas e taoistas mais relevantes.
The eight studies published herein are on the travels, travelers, information and knowledge resulting from the global international connections from the late 16th to mid-20th centuries. Studies with different perspectives, research drawing on diverse data, in many languages such as Chinese and Latin, Portuguese and Spanish (Castilian), German and Dutch. Qualitative and quantitative data seen from a multidisciplinary stance but in keeping with the topics and the problems of displacement in the space of groups, institutions, ideas and information. Integrating the research problem with the topic of the multiple connection between places, the transfer of people and knowledge.
The large majority of these case studies focus on Macau as a global frontier and platform. Macau as a micro-space of European and Asian migratory flows. As a European observatory of China and the Asia Pacific region but also as a Chinese observatory of Europes and Europeans, of new developments with world implications and the gathering and transmission of up-to-date information for global intermediation.
Macau is one of the first modern laboratories of the connection between the local micro and global macro. A maritime and coastal frontier that is the fruit of travel and travelers but also one that attracts other travelers and travel.
